Mud House Estate Riesling 2010
The fruit for this wine was solely sourced from Mud House’s Mound Vineyard in the Waipara Valley. The small parcels were carefully picked and gently whole bunch pressed. The pressed juice was then cold settled before undergoing extended cool fermentation in stainless steel. Select aromatic yeast strains were used to add complexity to the resultant wine. After the completion of fermentation the wine was carefully balanced and prepared for bottling.

VINTAGE REGION
This single vineyard is solely sourced Mud House’s Mound Vineyard in the Waipara Valley. The gravelly soils and Waipara’s long slow autumn ripening, create perfect conditions for growing Riesling.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2010 Waipara growing season started with cool but stable weather through flowering. It was a wet and cold old summer, that eventually gave way to beautifully warm and stable weather from late February onwards. The settled weather allowed us to hang the fruit on the vine for up to three weeks longer than average, without disease pressure, giving fruit of excellent condition and optimum ripeness. This extended ripening period has resulted in wines of superior quality, concentration and length.
